Chester Bennington Hanging Almost IdenticalTo Chris Cornell Suicide
7/21/2017 1:00 AM PDT
Chester Bennington may have mimicked the suicide of his close friend, Chris Cornell, because they died in virtually identical ways.
Law enforcement sources tell us, the Linkin Park singer was found hanging from a door separating his bedroom from his closet. TMZ broke the story, Chris Cornell died hanging from a hotel door separating the bedroom from the bathroom.
We're also told Chester was found with a belt around his neck. Chris was found with an exercise band around his neck.
Our sources say there was a partially empty bottle of alcohol in the room where Chester died, but no evidence of drugs.
And we're told Chester did not leave a suicide note in the room. Neither did Chris.
TMZ broke the story .. Chester killed himself on Thursday, which would have been Chris Cornell's 53rd birthday.
A few new details have emerged when it comes to Chester Bennington's suicide.
As previously and tragically reported, the 41-year old Linkin Park singer killed himself on Thursday morning.
His body was discovered at his home in California around 9 a.m., with authorities determining Bennington died via hanging.
Famous for such hits as 'Crawling,' 'One Step Closer,' and 'In the End,' Bennington and his Linkin Park bandmates put out one of the most popular albums in alternative rock history with “Meteora” in 2003.
The group won two Grammy Awards and sold over 70 million albums during its run.
But no amount of success could help Bennington overcome his demons.
He talked in the past about a drug addiction and depression that was linked to sexual abuse he suffered as a child.
It's unknown at the moment whether any drugs were in Bennington's system at the time of his death; nor can we know for sure what was on his mind when he made this fateful decision.
However, TMZ has provided a few tidbits about Bennington’s suicide that have left and wondering whether he was trying to mimic the suicide of close friend Chris Cornell.
(The Soundgarden frontman also killed himself this year; in May; at the age of 52.)
For example, Bennington’s corpse was discovered hanging from a door separating his bedroom from his closet.
As THG and other outlets reported a couple months ago, Cornell died in a Detroit hotel room.. with his body hanging from a hotel door that separated the bedroom from the bathroom.
Bennington tied a belt around his neck, while Cornell used an exercise band to complete his final act.
Neither artist left a suicide note.
Insiders also tell TMZ that an empty bottle of alcohol was in the room where Bennington died, but there was no evidence of drug use.
Chester Bennington Suicide Note
Finally, and perhaps most tellingly, Bennington killed himself on what would have been Cornell's 53rd birthday.
Again, we can't possibly know what was going through Bennington's mind when he chose to take his own life.
That's one of the most scarring and disturbing things about suicide.
But he and Cornell were very close, with Bennington even singing at his late pal's funeral this spring.
After Cornell was found dead, Bennington wrote the following letter to his friend:
I dreamt about the Beatles last night. I woke up with Rocky Raccoon playing in my head and a concerned look my wife’s face. She told me my friend had just passed away.
Thoughts of you flooded my mind and I wept.
I’m still weeping, with sadness, as well as gratitude for having shared some very special moments with you and your beautiful family. You have inspired me in many ways you could never have known.
Chester Bennington Suicide Details
Your talent was pure and unrivalled. your voice was joy and pain, anger and forgiveness, love and heartache all wrapped up into one. I suppose that’s what we all are. You helped me understand that.
I just watched a video oof you singing “A Day In The Life” by the Beatles and thought of my dream. I’d like to think you were saying goodbye in your own way. I can’t imagine a world without you in it.
I pray you find peace in the next life. I send my love to your wife and children, friends and family.
We hope both these talented musicians have found the peace in heaven that they could not find on Earth.
May they rest in peace.
Last night a friend and I were reminiscing about how much we used to love (and frankly, still love) Linkin Park’s music. A legendary ’emo’ band of the early 2000’s, Linkin Park provided us with iconic songs such as “Numb”, “In The End”, and my personal favorite, “Shadow Of The Day”. After a long discussion of their music, I went to bed with a smile on my face, remembering the great memories those songs had given me.
This afternoon, the news broke that Chester Bennington, lead singer of Linkin Park, had committed suicide.
While this isn’t the first time I experienced the loss of a well-loved artist (I had lost Cory Monteith back in 2013, while I also lost my hero, Christina Grimmie, to a tragic murder just last year), the chills I got while reading over BNO News’s article took a while to subside. Again, I was reminded of the same feeling I had when I accepted Christina’s death: our idols, our beloved celebrities, are not as far away from human as we would like them to be. To use the famous old adage, they bleed just the same as we do. We never think our favorite celebrities, especially those young of age, are susceptible to premature death. Cory Monteith’s drug overdose shocked Glee fans across the world. Christina Grimmie’s murder reminded me personally that our heroes are never, ever invincible, nor are they ever truly protected enough. Chester Bennington’s suicide is no exception.
No one ever expects someone they love to commit suicide. They especially don’t expect celebrities to do such a thing, especially when said celebrity seemed to be doing just fine, touring and recording music as normal. Chester was doing just that. Linkin Park had embarked on their ‘One More Light’ tour, and were recently seen in the studio with rapperWatsky. No fan could have suspected that Chester would even be considering suicide at that point. His death was a sudden, tragic move that leaves fans mourning and confused today.
We don’t know, of course, the major details of Chester’s suicide. According to BNO News, no suicide note was left, but today was the birthday of Chester’s close friend and fellow artist Chris Cornell, who had committed suicide in May. In addition, Chester had previously confessed about struggling with drug addiction and suicidal thoughts in the past, but of course such statements weren’t recent enough to warn us about Chester’s impeding struggle.
Jodha akbar hindi movie online. Overall, it’s important to not let Chester Bennington’s death be forgotten as just another celebrity who lost themselves in their path to fame. Let his suicide be a reminder that people are always, always struggling whether we see it ourselves or not. This includes not just ordinary people in our day to day life, but also, if not especially, celebrities. Our favorite people in the industry, actors, singers, musicians, etc., are not invincible. We could lose them at any moment, and for that reason it is important to be thankful for the art they’ve given us, as well as to constantly support them. Our heroes tend to provide us hope in our darkest moments, but it is important to remember that even they can experience just as much hopelessness as ourselves.
Rest in peace Chester Bennington. Your legacy will not be forgotten.
Voted Thanks!
The Linkin Park singer’s suicide once again shows that highly-functional people who appear “normal” may be privately battling severe blues. The illness can affect a person’s ability to work, form relationships and often causes physical symptoms such as sleeplessness.
healthUpdated: Jul 21, 2017 13:21 ISTLinkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington hanged himself at his LA home on July 20, as did Soundgarten vocalist Chris Cornell in May and actor-comedian Robin Williams three years ago.
All of them had struggled with depression for years.
Ready to die album cover. Closer home, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar and Ileana D’Cruz put the spotlight on depression, and Anushka Sharma took the stigma out of getting treated for anxiety and panic attacks.
Depression tends to creep up on you when you least expect it, which often makes it difficult to diagnose. It becomes all the more difficult when you have all the trappings of success: fame, money, good looks and a supportive family.
Because then no one considers depression as a possible destroyer of your mood. After all, how can someone who has everything be unhappy? So they label you “difficult” and put your emotional withdrawal or outbursts, as the case may be, to moodiness and temper.
Everyone feels down and out sometimes, but most snap out of it within days. Some don’t, and struggle every day with feelings of listlessness, ennui, guilt, low-self-worth, sleeplessness, appetite loss (or gain), and difficulty concentrating.
Deepika said for her the downer started as a feeling of “a strange emptiness in my stomach”. Like most people, she put it down to work stress and she did what most of us would do: ignore it.
“I thought it was stress, so I tried to distract myself by focusing on work, and surrounding myself with people, which helped for a while… but the nagging feeling didn’t go away,” she wrote in her exclusive piece for Hindustan Times.
“Depression is not always about moping and weeping all day. Highly-functional people can be normal in the company of others, yet be plagued with feelings of emptiness and inadequacy when alone,” says Dr Samir Parikh, head of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, Fortis Hospitals.
Built in Berlin during the peak of World War II, Germany's resources were spent on weapons so the Z3's development was hampered and many of its capabilities were limited. It was even destroyed in December 1943, when the Allies rained bombs on Berlin. The Z3, invented in 1941 by the German engineer, was the world's first working programmable and fully automatic digital computer and it displayed the results of its calculations using electronically illuminated cathode ray tubes.
“They can keep up appearances and function socially, yet feel low and depressed when alone,” he says.
Depression affects 121 million people worldwide, estimates the World Health Organisation (WHO). It can affect a person’s ability to work, form relationships and often causes physical symptoms such as sleeplessness and listlessness.
Worldwide, more than 8.5 lakh (850,000) people die from suicide each year, which roughly corresponds to one death every 40 seconds. It’s among the top 10 causes of deaths across the world. In India, self-harm is the seventh most common cause of deaths in India, reported The Global Burden of Diseases Study, 2013.
“Ninety percent of people who commit suicide have a psychiatric disorder and 75% are clinically depressed,” says Dr Parikh. Depression is an equal opportunity illness that affects people in different forms across ages and social strata. “If feelings of sadness, social withdrawal and listlessness do not go way in two weeks, the person must see a doctor,” says Rajesh Sagar, associate professor, department of psychiatry, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Increasing, more people in India are seeking treatment for depression. Antidepressants sales in value has shot up by more than 30% over the past four years, up from Rs 760 crore in 2013 to Rs 1,093 crore in 2016.
Drugs and treatment are a must if the condition is chronic (lasts for more than four weeks), recurrent (bouts of depression occur three four times a year) or the mood interferes with your ability to function normally for more than two weeks.
